Scrubs did it too much though it became so routine I think like it has to be unexpected you can’t go funny funny funny sad funny funny funny sad funny funny funny sad etc
you have to be funny for two entire seasons and then just break out the sad right out of nowhere. It’s fucking heartbreaking.
